One of the most impressive products ever

By Jessie--love to play, hate the gym from New Hope PA on 7/25/2008

5out of 5

Pros: Easy to learn, Gameplay, Challenging

Cons: Poor Graphics, No Online Play

Best Uses: Adults, Kids

Describe Yourself: Casual Gamer

I love this product because it's perfect for someone like me who never goes to the gym b/c all of the equipment is super-boring!

When I have a challenge, I thrive...the Wii Fit was worth the 3 week hunt! Not only is it a great workout (though dance dance revolution is a bit better for aerobic workouts in my experience), but it's a fun game that can actually keep my attention.

I'm 28, but my 7 year old enjoys it as much as I do (he was kicked off by the animated balance board a weekend or two ago for having exceeded the three hour workout limit :o) and it's great Nintendo will start undoing the couch potato damage they started back in 1984 (for those who can afford the expense of the console plus the balance board)

Christmas Tree Life Extending Formula- Recipe Courtesy of the USDA Forest Service

TIPS FOR HELPING YOUR TREE STAY ALIVE LONGER:

When you get home, re-cut the end of the tree by 1 inch and let it stand in a bucket of the "Christmas Tree Life Extending Formula" (recipe below) until you’re ready to bring it indoors. Fill the tree stand reservoir twice a day (morning and evening) with the remaining mixture.

"Christmas Tree Life Extending Formula"

2 gals. of hot water
2 cups corn syrup
2 oz. liquid bleach
2 pinches epsom salts
1/2 tsp. borax
1 tsp. chelated iron (garden shop)

How does this "Christmas Tree Life Extending Formula" work?
The corn syrup provides sugar, which allows the tree to soak up a lot more water than it normally would. Without sugar, only a small amount of water is absorbed by the branches and needles. You can expect the tree to soak up 1-1/2 gallons of the recipe during the 10 to 14 day period your tree is up, which is about 800 percent more water than it would have absorbed growing in the forest.
The boron (in the borax) makes the water and sugar move to every needle of your tree. The epsom salts and chelated iron provide magnesium sulfate which helps chlorophyll production, keeping your needles green. Bleach stops mold from forming when water and sugar stand too long in the tree holder.

Apple - Hot News - iPhone SDK

A Message from Steve (you know his last name):

Apple - Hot News: "Third Party Applications on the iPhone Let me just say it: We want native third party applications on the iPhone, and we plan to have an SDK in developers’ hands in February. We are excited about creating a vibrant third party developer community around the iPhone and enabling hundreds of new applications for our users. With our revolutionary multi-touch interface, powerful hardware and advanced software architecture, we believe we have created the best mobile platform ever for developers."

It will take until February to release an SDK because we’re trying to do two diametrically opposed things at once—provide an advanced and open platform to developers while at the same time protect iPhone users from viruses, malware, privacy attacks, etc. This is no easy task. Some claim that viruses and malware are not a problem on mobile phones—this is simply not true. There have been serious viruses on other mobile phones already, including some that silently spread from phone to phone over the cell network. As our phones become more powerful, these malicious programs will become more dangerous. And since the iPhone is the most advanced phone ever, it will be a highly visible target.
Some companies are already taking action. Nokia, for example, is not allowing any applications to be loaded onto some of their newest phones unless they have a digital signature that can be traced back to a known developer. While this makes such a phone less than “totally open,” we believe it is a step in the right direction. We are working on an advanced system which will offer developers broad access to natively program the iPhone’s amazing software platform while at the same time protecting users from malicious programs.
We think a few months of patience now will be rewarded by many years of great third party applications running on safe and reliable iPhones.
Steve
P.S.: The SDK will also allow developers to create applications for iPod touch. [Oct 17, 2007]

The funniest "inspirational" poster...made my day...and not an easy day to make today!

Make your coworkers (or whoever encounters you on a daily basis) happy...I found this one using stumbleupon, but hang it somewhere (cubicle, office, make an iron-on and wear it...you get the drift)...it's just funny like that!

MacGyver Tip: Make paint dry faster from Lifehacker

Can't go wrong here, love MacGyver references and DIY...
funny...

Lifehacker, the Productivity and Software Guide: "MacGyver Tip: Make paint dry faster
paint_Dry.png

Ever heard that old adage that 'a watched pot never boils'? Wrong, suckas - and it applies to paint, too.

Here's the thing: the more you watch paint dry, the faster it will dry. In fact, more and more studies are coming out to prove this theory - including the official Watch Paint Dry webcam, a scientific project that has been opened up for the first time to the public at large. Be sure to take advantage of this new technology if you have any kind of painting tasks coming up soon. — Wendy Boswell

Why Intelligent People Tend To Be Unhappy | Clipmarks

clipped from www.scribd.com
Happiness
in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know.
- Ernest
Hemingway, author and journalist, Nobel laureate (1899-1961)
Children
develop along four streams: intellectual, physical, emotional (psychological)
and social. In classrooms, the smartest kids tend to be left out of more
activities by other children than they are included in. They are
"odd," they are the geeks, they are social outsiders. In other words,
they do not develop socially as well as they may develop intellectually or even
physically where opportunities may exist for more progress.
Adults
tend to believe that intelligent kids can deal with anything because they are
intellectually superior. This inevitably includes situations where the
intelligent kids have neither knowledge nor skills to support their experience.
They go through the tough times alone. Adults don't understand that they need
help and other kids don't want to associate with kids the social leaders say
are outsiders.
